CAP: A Community-Driven
Non-Profit Security Organisation
Our Mission
CAP is a pioneering non-profit security organisation in South Africa, established in response to the growing need for safer and more vibrant neighbourhoods. As the first non-profit security organisation of its kind in the country, CAP is committed to providing exceptional security services while upholding its community-focused mission.
Recognising the power of community involvement, CAP was founded on the principle that residents can play a pivotal role in enhancing their own security and well-being. Our comprehensive approach, which combines proactive patrolling, intelligence-driven operations, community engagement, and technological innovation, has yielded significant results in reducing crime rates and fostering a sense of safety and security among residents.

The CAP Difference
- Community-Driven: CAP is a community-driven organisation that relies on the active participation of residents to ensure its effectiveness. CAP is funded through donations and contributions from community resident associations and various stakeholders. This support enables CAP to provide essential security services to different neighbourhoods in Johannesburg.
- Proactive Response: Our tactical units are immediately dispatched to address reported incidents, ensuring a swift and effective response.
- Volunteerism: The spirit of volunteerism is at the heart of CAP, with dedicated individuals contributing their time and skills to enhance community safety.
- Comprehensive Approach: We offer a wide range of services, including proactive patrolling, community engagement, advanced technology, and legal support.
- Proven Results: Our initiatives have led to a significant 90% reduction in crime rates across our communities.

Our History
Established in 2006, CAP emerged in response to a series of tragic incidents in Glenhazel, Johannesburg. Through collaboration and innovation, we developed a community-based security model that has been successfully implemented in numerous areas across the city.

The CAP Marshalls
Our volunteer Marshalls unit plays a vital role in our operations. These dedicated individuals contribute their time and expertise to patrol neighbourhoods, identify potential threats, and assist in apprehending criminals.
